Xavier’s Faulkner wins sectional title, earns berth in WIAA State Wrestling Tournament

MENASHA – Xavier junior Madeline Faulkner is heading to the state tournament after placing first at 138 pounds at a WIAA girls wrestling sectional on Friday night at Menasha High School.

Faulkner (44-9) won the 138-pound championship with a 12-6 victory over Sydney Turner of Southern Door and advances to the 2025 WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament, which will be held at the Kohl Center in Madison on Feb. 27-March 1.

The top two finishers in each of the 11 weight classes at the sectional qualified for next week’s state tournament.
