Xavier’s Donnermeyer, Fouts sweep individual titles at Waupaca Cross Country Invitational

WAUPACA – Noah Donnermeyer and Lilie Fouts both won individual titles for Xavier at the Waupaca Cross Country Invitational on Thursday at Waupaca High School.
Donnermeyer won the boys 5-kilometer race in 16:46.2, 35 seconds in front of runner-up Grant Wenzelow of Winneconne, while Fouts nailed down a 10-second win over Sophie Yetter of Winneconne in the girls 5k.
Winneconne won the boys team title with 48 points, just four better than Xavier. Fox Valley Lutheran was fourth.
The Xavier boys had all four of its other runners finish in the top-20 to nearly pull out the team victory.
Mason Dobberstein led the FVL boys, taking 11th in 18:21.3.
Xavier rolled to the girls team title as it had its five top runners earn no worse than 10th. FVL was a distant second.
In addition to Fouts, Annalise Minorik took third (19:16.7), Lauren Erickson was sixth (20:49.9), Joy Krull was eighth (21:05.9) and Ellie Krull was 10th (21:16.5) for the Hawks.
Kristin Donart was Fox Valley Lutheran’s top girls runner, taking ninth in 21:06.7. Claire Fischer added a 14th-place finish in 21:39.9.
Both Xavier and Fox Valley Lutheran will be back in action next Thursday, Oct. 5. FVL will compete at the Seymour Invitational and Xavier will be at the Kimberly Invite.
