Xavier wrestling tops Menasha in Bay Conference dual

APPLETON – Xavier’s Eddie Heuring earned a first-round pin in a winner-take-all 285-pound match to give the Hawks wrestling team a 42-36 Bay Conference dual meet win over Menasha on Thursday at Xavier High School.

The match was tied at 36-36 after Menasha’s Richard Waldburger pinned Dane Katz in 1:54 at 215 pounds.

Heuring countered with a pin in 53 seconds of Menasha’s Deacon Quick in the 285-pound match to give Xavier the victory.

Adrian Morales (120 pounds), Julian Vajda (144), John Faulker (150) and Jerome Erimas (165) also earned pins for the Hawks.

Xavier will compete at the Oostburg Invitational on Saturday.
