Xavier wrestling finishes seventh at Oostburg Invite

OOSTBURG – Xavier had seven wrestlers earn top-six finishes and placed seventh in the team standings at the 14-team Oostburg Wrestling Invitational on Saturday at Oostburg High School.

The host school Oostburg won the team title with 192 points, with Sussex Hamilton second with 170. Xavier finished seventh with 102.

Cristian Rodriguez Salgado was third at 106 pounds, Julian Vajda was third at 144, and Eddie Heuring took third at 285 pounds to lead the way for the Hawks.

John Faulker took fourth at 150, Dante Vargas (132) and Adrian Morales (113) were fifth, and Zander Marg placed sixth at 175 as well for Xavier.

Xavier will compete against New Holstein and Brillion in a nonconference double dual Thursday at Brillion beginning at 6:45 p.m.
