Xavier volleyball goes undefeated on opening day of Mequon Homestead Joust

MEQUON – The Xavier volleyball team earned three straight-set wins at the opening day of the Homestead Joust on Friday at Mequon Homestead High School.

The Hawks defeated Lake Country Lutheran 25-14, 25-7; Neenah 25-19, 25-9; and Sussex Hamilton 25-16, 25-11; to head into Day 2 of the tournament Saturday unbeaten.

Mariah Potter had 52 assists and five service aces, Annika Kowalski had a team-high 16 kills and seven aces, and Belle Shea had 20 digs for Xavier.

Halle Vande Hey added 15 kills, Madison Daley had 14 kills and nine digs, and Mattea Kiepert had nine kills and three blocks as well for the Hawks.

The tournament concludes on Saturday.
