Xavier softball slams Green Bay West/East

APPLETON – Xavier scored in each of the first three innings to build a comfortable lead and went on to defeat Green Bay West/East 12-1 in a Bay Conference softball game Thursday at Xavier High School.

The Hawks (4-3, 2-2 Bay Conference) pounded out 10 hits, and used four walks and five errors to cruise to the win, which ended in the bottom of the sixth due to the 10-run rule.

Morgan Staszek threw a complete game to earn the win for Xavier, striking out 11 without a walk. She also had two hits and three RBI.

Samia Guerrero also drove in three, and Kalia Stammer had two hits and two RBI for Xavier.

Xavier will play at Menasha on Monday.
