Xavier softball held to one hit in shutout loss to New London

APPLETON – The Xavier softball team was held to one hit in a 5-0 loss to undefeated New London in Bay Conference action Tuesday at Xavier High School.

Kenna Mix and Ellie Winkelman combined on the one-hit shutout for New London, which keeps its record unblemished, moving to 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the Bay Conference.

Addison Hervey suffered the loss for Xavier, striking out nine. She allowed just three hits, but gave up 11 walks in the loss. Hervey had the Hawks’ only hit, a double in the fourth inning.

Xavier (2-4, 1-2 Bay Conference) will be at home against Shawano on Thursday.
