Xavier softball drops home game to Shawano

APPLETON – Shawano scored five times in the first two innings and went on to defeat Xavier 8-3 in a Bay Conference softball game Thursday at Xavier High School.

Xavier fell behind 7-0 after 3½ innings before Ella Bauman hit a home run in the bottom of the fourth to get on the scoreboard.

Xavier would add single runs in the fifth and seventh, but fell short of a rally and falls to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the Bay Conference.

Marissa Tomashek and Ella Stuber both drove in two runs for Shawano (8-4, 4-2 Bay Conference).

Xavier will play a nonconference game at Ripon on Saturday at 10 a.m.
