Xavier places second at WIAA Division 2 Boys Golf Regional, advances to sectionals

SHERWOOD – The Xavier boys golf team is moving on to sectionals after placing second at a WIAA Division 2 Boys Golf Regional on Tuesday at High Cliff Golf Course.

Seymour won the regional team title with a score of 314, one shot ahead of Xavier. Wrightstown placed third (327) and Little Chute fourth (332) to also qualify for a D-2 sectional at Northbrook Golf Course in Luxemburg next Tuesday, May 28.

The top four teams and top four individuals not on those teams move on to sectionals, with the top two teams and top three individuals not on the qualifying teams earning spots at the 2024 WIAA State Boys Golf Championships at the Meadows Course at Blackwolf Run in Kohler on July 3-4.

Xavier senior Jon Bertram won the regional medalist honors with a 73, two shots ahead of Tristan Drath of Seymour.

Kyle Watry had a 78, Jack Schmidtke had an 81, Jonah Gentry shot 83, and Grant Neumann had an 85 to round out the scoring for the Hawks.
