Xavier lands four on 2023-24 All-Bay Conference Girls Basketball Team

Xavier seniors Carsyn Stempa and Halle Vande Hey were first-team selections on the 2023-24 All-Bay Conference Girls Basketball Team, as voted on by the seven conference coaches following the season.

Stempa, who was also named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year, was one of three unanimous first-team picks, along with Shawano sophomore Leah Nordin and West De Pere junior Faith Walder. New London senior Shelby Glodowski rounded out the first-team honorees.

Stempa topped the Hawks in scoring at 12.1 points per game, led the team in steals with 112 and 3-pointers with 39, and added 5.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game as Xavier won the conference title and made it all the way to the D-3 state title game.

Vande Hey led Xavier in rebounding at 6.8 per game while contributing 8.4 points per contest.

Walder averaged 15.8 points, 3.7 assists and 3.4 steals per game for West De Pere, which finished second in the conference standings behind Xavier.

Xavier sophomore Joy Krull and senior Molly Martine were among the honorable mention picks. Krull averaged 6.3 points per game, while Martine chipped in 5.9 points per game for the conference champion Hawks.
