Xavier girls volleyball goes undefeated, hands Appleton North its only loss at first day of West Bend Sprawl

WEST BEND – The Xavier girls volleyball team went 3-0 and handed Appleton North its only loss in pool play at the first day of the West Bend Sprawl on Friday at West Bend East High School.
Xavier defeated Germantown 25-15, 25-20; West Bend West 25-9, 25-15; and Appleton North 25-20, 17-25, 15-13. North defeated West Bend West 25-14, 25-18, and Germantown 25-15, 25-16, in its other two matches.
Olivia Neumann had 18 kills and eight blocks, Annika Kowalski had 16 kills and 11 digs, Halle Vande Hey added 13 kills and 10 digs, and Mattea Kiepert had 12 kills, five blocks and five service aces to pace Xavier.
Belle Shea added 20 digs and Madison Daley had eight digs, seven kills and four blocks as well for the Hawks in their three matches.
Ella Demetrician had 34 kills and 23 digs, Teegan Charapata added 24 kills and 14 digs, and Emerson Van Lannen had 60 assists for Appleton North.
Maggie Hahnke added 18 digs, Chloe North had 12 digs and four aces, and Kayden Lamon had six blocks and five kills for Lightning.
The tournament continues with bracket play on Saturday.
