Xavier girls basketball wins at Shawano, climbs into tie for first in Bay Conference

SHAWANO – The Xavier girls basketball team climbed into a tie for the lead in the Bay Conference standings with a hard-fought 62-52 win over Shawano on Saturday at Shawano High School.
Coming off an overtime win over West De Pere on Friday night, Xavier able to take care of business on the road and move to 13-6 overall and 7-1 in the Bay Conference, which places them in a tie with West De Pere for first place.
Faith Hafner had 14 points, Carsyn Stempa scored 13, and Halle Vande Hey added 12 in the win for Xavier.
Xavier’s next game is Friday at home against New London, which is 5-2 in the Bay.
