Xavier girls basketball slams Denmark in WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal

APPLETON – The Xavier girls basketball team made quick work of Denmark, bolting out to a 26-point lead by halftime, and rolled to a 65-38 blowout victory in a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal Friday night at Xavier High School.
The top-seeded Hawks (18-7) outscored Denmark 40-14 in the first half and maintained their big lead the rest of the way, advancing to a Division 3 regional final at home Saturday night at No. 5 seed Omro (18-8). Omro downed Wrightstown 67-51 on the road Friday.
Elle Krull led Xavier with 15 points, and Carsyn Stempa and Joy Krull each had 14 in the win for the Hawks.
Paige Selner led Denmark (15-11) with 14 points.
