Xavier girls basketball routs Seymour for third-straight win

APPLETON – The Xavier girls basketball team evened its season record at 5-5 by posting its third-straight win as it defeated Seymour 73-41 in a Bay Conference game Tuesday night at Xavier High School.
The Hawks raced out to a 40-26 lead by halftime and held Seymour to just 15 points in the second half to win going away.
Brynn Krull finished with 23 points, Joy Krull added 16 and Hailey Hafner had 14 for Xavier, which hit the 70-point mark for the third time in its last four games.
The win helps Xavier (4-1 Bay Conference) keep pace with West De Pere (5-1) and Shawano (4-1) atop the Bay Conference standings.
Jaelyn Wenninger and Alayna VanDeHei each scored nine points to lead Seymour (6-6, 2-3 Bay Conference).
Xavier will be back in action Saturday with a nonconference game at Bonduel.
