Xavier girls basketball outlasts Mosinee

APPLETON – The Xavier girls basketball team jumped out to a double-digit lead by halftime and defeated Mosinee 63-55 in a nonconference game Thursday night at Xavier High School.

The Hawks led 38-25 by intermission and that was enough as Mosinee (10-5) outscored Xavier (7-7) by five in the second half but could not mount a big enough comeback.

Brynn Krull scored 18 points and Annika Heimann added 12 for Xavier.

Xavier will travel to Minocqua to take on Lakeland in another nonconference game Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
