Xavier girls basketball loses to Division 2 No. 2-ranked Madison Edgewood

MADISON – The Xavier girls basketball team could not overcome an 11-point halftime deficit and dropped a 53-42 decision to Madison Edgewood on Wednesday at Edgewood High School.
The matchup was the first of two this week for Xavier against Division 2 state-ranked opponents as the Crusaders (17-1) are ranked second in this week’s Wissports.net state coaches poll.
Brynn Krull and Faith Hafner each scored nine points for the Hawks, who fall to 7-9 this season.
Xavier’s next game is Friday at Bay Conference leader and Division 2 No. 8-ranked West De Pere.
