Xavier girls basketball holds off Menasha for second-straight win

MENASHA – The Xavier girls basketball team dominated in the first half, opening up a 19-point lead, and held off a late rally to knock off Menasha 56-51 in a Bay Conference game Friday night at Menasha High School.
Xavier led 32-13 at halftime and withstood a big run by Menasha, which outscored the Hawks by 14 points in the second half, but came up short.
Annika Heimann had 14 points and Brynn Krull chipped in 13 for the Hawks, who have won two games in a row and are now 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the Bay Conference.
Hannah Neubert led the charge for Menasha (5-5, 2-2 Bay Conference) with 25 points.
Xavier will play a nonconference game at The Prairie School in Racine on Saturday at 4 p.m.
