Xavier football routs Shawano for sixth-straight win

APPLETON – The Xavier football team won its sixth-straight game, rolling past Shawano 42-14 in a Bay Conference matchup Thursday night at Xavier High School.

The Hawks scored five times in the first quarter as they pulled out to a 42-0 lead by halftime. Shawano had two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to finish off the scoring.

Matthew Potter and Isaiah Des Jardins each scored two rushing touchdowns, Evan McCormick added another on a 79-yard run, and Reid Hietpas threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Eli Mares for Xavier, which is now 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the Bay Conference.

Xavier hosts Winneconne for its final regular-season home game next Friday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m.
