Xavier football rolls to road win at Two Rivers

TWO RIVERS – Xavier rushed for 357 yards in a dominating 42-7 win over Two Rivers in a Bay Conference-North Eastern Conference crossover football game Thursday night at Two Rivers High School.

Cole Hietpas had a 28-yard touchdown run, and Matthew Potter had TD runs of 14, 16 and 3 yards in the first half as the Hawks (5-3, 3-3 Bay Conference) raced out to a 28-0 lead.

Hietpas added a pair of touchdown runs in the second half to cushion Xavier’s lead.

Hietpas finished with 157 yards, Potter 114 and Eli Mares 87 on the ground for Xavier. Mares also intercepted three passes on defense.

Xavier will host Waupaca (2-5, 2-3 Bay Conference) in its regular-season finale next Friday, Oct. 18. The Hawks would earn an automatic qualifying spot for the WIAA playoffs with a victory.
