Xavier football dominates Seymour to stay unbeaten in Bay Conference

APPLETON – Xavier racked up 265 yards rushing and scored five first-half touchdowns in a dominating 41-8 Bay Conference football victory over Seymour on Friday night at Xavier High School.
Matthew Potter ran for 110 yards and two first-quarter touchdowns to give the Hawks a quick 14-0 lead.
Evan McCormick and quarterback Reid Hietpas accounted for three touchdowns in the second quarter to give Xavier a running clock scenario in the second half with a 35-point lead.
Hietpas hit McCormick for a 21-yard touchdown pass, McCormick ran in from the 14, and Hietpas scored from the 4 to push the Hawks’ lead to 35-0.
Isaiah Des Jardins added a 21-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to finish off Xavier’s scoring.
Xavier is now 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Bay Conference, while Seymour falls to 1-4 and 1-2 in conference play. The Hawks play at Waupaca next Friday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m.
