Xavier football blanks New London to finish off undefeated Bay Conference championship

NEW LONDON – The Xavier football team finished off a Bay Conference championship with a dominating 48-0 rout of New London in the regular-season finale on Friday night at New London High School.

Xavier’s Reid Hietpas threw for 192 yards and four touchdowns, two to running back Isaiah Des Jardins, who also ran for 151 yards and just five carries and scored three more times.

The Hawks enter the WIAA playoffs with an 8-1 overall record and finish the Bay Conference at a perfect 7-0.

The Hawks racked up 408 yards of total offense and averaged 8.3 yards per carry running the ball.

Xavier earned the No. 2 seed in its Division 4 bracket and will host No. 7 Wisconsin Dells (6-3) on Friday night at Rocky Bleier Field at Xavier High School.
