Xavier earns pair of runner-up finishes, takes eighth at Cedar Grove-Belgium Rocket Scramble

CEDAR GROVE – The Xavier wrestling team earned a pair of second-place finishes and ended up eighth in the team standings at the Rocket Scramble held at Cedar Grove-Belgium High School on Saturday.

Julian Vajda took second at 144 pounds and Eddie Heuring was second at 285 for the Hawks in the round-robin style tournament.

Lomira won the team title with 650 points, with Cedar Grove-Belgium a close second with 631. Xavier finished eighth among the 15 teams with 342 points.

John Faulker was third at 150, Cristian Rodriguez Salgado finished fourth at 106, and Dante Vargas was sixth at 132 as well for Xavier.

Xavier will be back in action Thursday with a Bay Conference dual at Green Bay West.
