Xavier, Brightman shut out Menasha in Bay Conference baseball action

APPLETON – Tyler Brightman tossed a two-hit shutout as the Xavier baseball team earned a series split with Menasha, winning on Thursday 3-0 in a Bay Conference game at Don Hawkins Field.

Brightman struck out five and walked three while giving up just two hits to defeat Menasha (4-2 overall and Bay Conference), which had defeated Xavier 2-1 on Tuesday. He also had an RBI in the win.

Matthew Potter had a single and a double and scored twice for the Hawks, who evened their record at 5-5 overall and improved to 2-4 in the Bay.

Luke Krull also knocked in a run for Xavier.

Xavier will be at home again on Friday at Appleton Legion Post 38 against New London. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
