Xavier boys basketball tops New London in battle of Bay Conference leaders

NEW LONDON – The Xavier boys basketball team took over sole possession of first place in the Bay Conference with a hard-fought 55-50 win over New London on Friday night at New London High School.
Hayden Quimby scored 15 points, including four 3-pointers, and Sam Pfefferle added 11 for the Hawks, who are now 10-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the Bay, one game ahead of both New London and West De Pere.
Xavier led 32-25 at halftime and were able to hold on, making 16 of 27 free throws.
Paul Vuillaume led New London (6-4 overall) with 14 points.
Xavier will travel to the north side of Appleton to take on crosstown rival Fox Valley Lutheran (9-0) in a nonconference game Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Watch for complete coverage here at AppletonSportsPage.com.
