Xavier boys basketball slams Green Bay Preble

GREEN BAY – Five Xavier players scored in double figures and the Hawks won their third-straight game to start the season with a 75-43 rout of Green Bay Preble in a nonconference boys basketball game Friday night at Preble High School.

Hayden Quimby and Tyler Brightman each scored 12 points, Sam Pfefferle and Luke Krull both had 11, and Isaiah Des Jardins chipped in 10 for Xavier (3-0). Brightman also had 13 rebounds.

The Hawks continued their hot shooting from 3-point range, making nine of 24.

Xavier led by eight at halftime before pulling away with a dominating 38-14 advantage in the second half.

Jack Thorpe led Preble (1-2) with 13 points.

Xavier opens its Bay Conference season Tuesday at Seymour.
