Xavier boys basketball rips Wittenberg-Birnamwood, extends winning streak to 10

APPLETON – The Xavier boys basketball team extended its winning streak to 10 with a resounding 73-37 nonconference win over Wittenberg-Birnamwood on Saturday at Xavier High School.

The Hawks (19-1) rolled out to a 46-16 lead by halftime and put the game away using a balanced scoring attack.

Twelve of the 14 Xavier players that saw action scored as they split the minutes fairly evenly between starters and reserves throughout the game.

Cole Hietpas had a season-high 20 points and Logan Ramczyk scored 11, while Luke Oelhafen had eight points and nine rebounds in the Hawks’ victory.

Jett Rogowski had 13 points to Wittenberg-Birnamwood (10-10).

Xavier will play its next three games on the road starting with a nonconference contest at Mosinee (17-3) on Tuesday.
