Xavier boys basketball rips Winnebago Lutheran in WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal

FOND DU LAC – The Xavier boys basketball team dominated the first half and were able to hold on from there, defeating Winnebago Lutheran 74-55 in a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal Friday night at Winnebago Lutheran High School.

The Hawks pulled out to a 40-24 lead by halftime and were able to maintain a comfortable double-digit lead to the end.

The No. 5 seed Xavier (20-6) moves on to a Division 3 regional final at No. 1 seed Laconia (21-4) in Rosendale on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Logan Ramczyk continued his stellar sophomore campaign, pouring in 27 points while hauling down seven rebounds to pace the Hawks.

Cole Hietpas added a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, Kyler Bleck had 12 points and Luke Oelhafen chipped in 11 points and six rebounds in the win for Xavier.

Gannan Schwartz had a team-high 28 points for Winnebago Lutheran (16-10).
