Xavier boys basketball pulls away in second half to knock off West Bend West

WEST BEND – Hayden Quimby hit three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 20 points to help lead the Xavier boys basketball team to a 65-44 nonconference win at West Bend West on Tuesday.
Xavier led 25-21 at halftime before blowing the game open in the second half, outscoring the Spartans by 17 points to run its season record to 21-2.
Sam Pfefferle added nine points, and Tyler Brightman and Logan Ramczyk both chipped in eight in the win for the Hawks.
Carson Bauer had a team-high 14 points for West Bend West (11-12).
Xavier will host Shawano on Thursday to wrap up its regular season and Bay Conference schedules. The Hawks will open WIAA postseason play with a Division 3 regional semifinal at home on Friday, March 1.
