Xavier boys basketball drains 14 3-pointers, surges past Menasha

MENASHA – Xavier shot 55 percent from the floor and made 14 3-pointers as it dismantled Menasha 89-54 in a Bay Conference boys basketball game Friday night at Menasha High School.

The Hawks led 32-24 at halftime before pouring it on with a whopping 57-point second half.

Xavier shot 35-for-64 overall and was 14-for-30 from 3-point range as 11 different players hit from long range.

Tyler Brightman scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds, going 10-for-11 from the field, to lead the Hawks. Hayden Quimby chipped in 17 points, and Sam Pfefferle and Luke Krull each had six assists in the win.

Xavier is now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Bay Conference. Menasha drops to 2-3 and 1-1 in conference play.

Xavier plays at West De Pere on Tuesday. Those two teams, along with New London, are tied for first in the Bay Conference at 2-0.
