Xavier boys basketball blasts Valders

APPLETON – The Appleton Xavier boys basketball team cruised out to a 30-point halftime lead and rolled past Valders 81-31 in a nonconference game Monday night at Xavier High School.
Xavier dominated from the start, taking a 44-14 lead by intermission, and finished off the home win to improve to 2-0 this eason.
Hayden Quimby (14 points) and Luke Oehlhafen (13 points) each made three 3-pointers, and Reid Hietpas added 12 points for the Hawks.
Xavier shot 13-for-27 from 3-point range and 30-for-58 overall in the victory.
Will Sieracki led Valders (0-2) with 14 points.
Xavier hits the road for another nonconference game Friday at Green Bay Preble.
