Xavier baseball rolls past Appleton West

APPLETON – Xavier took advantage of eight Appleton West errors and rolled to a 14-2 nonconference baseball win on Friday at Don Hawkins Field at American Legion Post 38.
The Hawks scored four times in the first inning and added eight more in the fourth to finish off the game via the 10-run rule.
Matthew Potter had two hits and scored twice, and Spencer Reed had a double and three RBI to pace the Hawks, who improve to 3-4 this season.
Appleton West (1-3) was held to three hits by Xavier pitchers Anthony Weyers and Luke Krull.
Xavier hosts Shawano for a Bay Conference game Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Hawkins Field.
Appleton West also is back in action Monday as it hosts a Fox Valley Association contest at Nienhaus Sports Complex starting at 5 p.m.
