Wisconsin Rapids rallies to down Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball

APPLETON – Wisconsin Rapids rallied to defeat Appleton Post 38 7-4 on Saturday at Don Hawkins Field.

The Post 38 Round Robin concluded on Saturday, with Post 38’s final scheduled game against the Appleton Double Days being postponed by rain.

Appleton (7-9) led 4-3 after three innings before Wisconsin Rapids (11-8) scored three times in the fifth inning and added another in the sixth to pull away.

Nick Bergin went 4-for-4 to lead Post 38, which had eight hits in all. Ryan Tesch also had a pair of hits in the loss.

Post 38’s next scheduled game is Wednesday at the Green Bay Hornets.
