Wiese fires five-hit shutout as Xavier baseball defeats New London

APPLETON – Gavin Wiese tossed a complete-game five-hit shutout as the Xavier baseball team blanked New London 7-0 in a Bay Conference game Monday at Don Hawkins Field.

Wiese struck out five and walked just one to pick up the win for the Hawks, who are now 10-9 overall and 7-8 in the Bay Conference.

Matthew Potter had two hits and two RBI, and Luke Krull, Reid Hietpas, Anthony Weyers, Kyler Bleck and Parker Bleck all drove in runs for Xavier.

The two teams will play again Tuesday at New London.
