West De Pere snags walk-off win over Appleton North softball

DE PERE – Ella Arendt singled home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift West De Pere to a 6-5 walk-off win over Appleton North in a nonconference softball game Monday at Westwood Elementary School.

Appleton North (1-4) tied the game in the top of the seventh as Tatum Beggs singled and came around to score on an error, but the Lightning were unable to hold on.

Alyssa Wald had three hits and scored twice, Beggs knocked in two runs, and Payton Willenkamp also had two hits for Appleton North.

Megan Burns had two hits and two RBI for West De Pere (5-3).

Appleton North returns to Fox Valley Association play at Oshkosh North on Tuesday.
