Valley Swim Team wins team title at Terror Boys Swimming Relays

APPLETON – The Valley Swim Team, comprised of swimmers from Appleton West, Kimberly, Kaukauna and Hortonville high schools, earned the team title at the Terror Relays on Saturday, hosted by Appleton West.

VST won with 252 points, with Neenah second with 218 and Appleton North/Appleton East third with 210.

Valley Swim Team coach Joseph Heiser said it is the Appleton West Co-op’s first invitational title in 10 seasons.

VST won a pair of events. The 300-meter individual medley relay team of Tyler VanGompel, Ethan Pasholk and Hayden Hollenbeck won in 3:14.00 and the 200 T-shirt freestyle relay team of Cole Mursau, Max Baade, Donte Dobbs and VanGompel were victorious in 2:25.81.

Appleton North/Appleton East’s best finish in the swimming events came in the 200 T-shirt freestyle relay as well. The team of Cal Woreck, Mark Weed, Caleb Hardy and Adam Nahm was the runner-up to VST, swimming in 2:39.84. North/East won the diving with a score of 159.90.

Both teams are back in the pool on Tuesday with Fox Valley Association dual meets. Appleton North/Appleton East will be at Neenah and the Valley Swim Team will host Fond du Lac at Appleton West High School. Both meets start at 5:30 p.m.
