Valley Swim Team athletes compete at 2024 WIAA State Boys Swimming & Diving Championships

WAUKESHA – The Valley Swim Team, a co-op of athletes from Appleton West, Kimberly, Kaukauna and Hortonville high schools, had two relay teams and three individuals participate in four events at the 2024 WIAA State Boys Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday at Waukesha South High School.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Tyler VanGompel, Hayden Hollenbeck, Cole Mursau and Ethan Bruce finished 18th in 1:39.88, and the 400 freestyle relay team of VanGompel, Bruce, Ethan Pasholk and Hollenbeck took 22nd place in 3:21.70 for Valley Swim Team.
In individual events, VanGompel placed seventh in the 200-yard individual medley in 1:56.00 and finished 20th in the 100 backstroke in 54.23 seconds.
Pasholk ended up 19th in the 200 IM in 2:01.53, and Hollenbeck finished 23rd in the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.86 as well for VST.
In the diving competition, VST’s Tyler Jossie placed 15th with 279.55 points.
