Undefeated Winneconne pulls away in second half to defeat Fox Valley Lutheran football

APPLETON – Winneconne quarterback Brody Schaffer ran for 306 yards and four touchdowns, including three in the second half, as the Wolves pulled past Fox Valley Lutheran 35-19 in a Bay Conference football game Thursday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

The Foxes led 19-14 at halftime after Lucas Papendorf threw a pair of touchdown passes to Jacoby Dobberstein, and Gabe Heiges had a 3-yard TD run in the first half.

Winneconne dominated the second half, keeping the Foxes off the board while putting up the three touchdowns to pull in front and stay undefeated this season, improving to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in the Bay Conference.

Papendorf completed 21 of 41 passes for 200 yards and the two scores, but was intercepted three times by Winneconne.

Heiges finished with 121 yards rushing for FVL (4-4, 2-4 Bay Conference).

Fox Valley Lutheran will finish its regular season schedule at Shawano on Friday, Oct. 18.
