Two late free throws push Appleton North girls basketball past Oshkosh West

OSHKOSH – The Appleton North girls basketball team evened its second record at 4-4 with its third-straight win, a tight 44-43 victory over Oshkosh West in a Fox Valley Association game Tuesday at Oshkosh West High School.

Sophie Busch made two free throws with 16 seconds left to give Appleton North the lead and it was able to hold on, improving to 2-2 in the FVA. Bush had a team-high 11 points, and Avery Werfal scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Lightning.

Pagie Secker had 12 points and 13 rebounds for Oshkosh West (4-3, 2-2 FVA).

Appleton North returns to Oshkosh to play at Oshkosh North on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
