Top-seed Mosinee shuts out Fox Valley Lutheran in WIAA Division 2 baseball regional final

MOSINEE – The Fox Valley Lutheran baseball team saw its season come to an end with a 7-0 loss to No. 1 seed Mosinee in a WIAA Division 2 regional final Wednesday at Mosinee High School.
The Indians scored four times in the first inning as Taylor Lemanski hit a two-run homer, and Brady Lokken had an RBI triple and scored on a sacrifice fly.
Fox Valley Lutheran never recovered as Mosinee pitcher Garrett Shupe threw a complete-game three-hitter.
Cael Cook, Lucas Papendorf and Mac Kramer each had one hit for the Foxes, who finish their season with a 15-13 record.
Mosinee (22-5) will play Green Bay Notre Dame (22-6) in a D-2 sectional semifinal Tuesday at Don Hawkins Field at American Legion Post 38 in Appleton at 10 a.m. Xavier will take on the winner of Thursday’s game between Kiel and Plymouth in the other semifinal at 1 p.m., with the winners playing for a sectional title and a state tournament berth at 4 p.m.
