Strong start pushes Appleton East girls basketball past Kaukauna

KAUKAUNA – The Appleton East girls basketball team used a huge run to start the game to build a big lead and rolled to a 70-31 victory over Kaukauna in a Fox Valley Association contest Tuesday at Kaukauna High School.
The Patriots began the game on a 23-4 run and cruised from there, earning their third-straight victory to improve to 9-7 overall and 8-4 in the FVA.
Torie Neubauer had 19 points and Lilly Meulemans added 19 as the pair combined for eight of Appleton East’s 11 3-pointers in the win.
Addison Bangart led Kaukauna (7-9, 6-6 FVA) with nine points.
Appleton East has now won six of its last seven games heading into a home game against Oshkosh North on Friday.
