Seymour scores 11 in third inning to blow past Fox Valley Lutheran in WIAA Division 2 softball regional semifinal

APPLETON – Seymour used an 11-run third inning to blow open a tight game and defeated Fox Valley Lutheran 14-3 in a WIAA Division 2 softball regional semifinal Tuesday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
No. 5 seed Seymour, champions of the Bay Conference, led 2-1 after two innings before erupting for the 11-run frame and the No. 4 seed Foxes couldn’t recover.
Melayna Sokulski and two hits, including a solo home run, and Alaina Krueger had two hits as well for Fox Valley Lutheran, which finishes its season with a 17-8 record.
Seymour finished with 19 hits, with Addison Wery and Morgan Miller smacking home runs.
Seymour (16-8) moves on to a D-2 regional final at No. 1 seed Luxemburg-Casco (23-2) on Thursday. L-C shut out Marinette 4-0 on Tuesday.
