Second-half surge leads Oshkosh West past Appleton North girls basketball

APPLETON – Oshkosh West held Appleton North to 18 points in the second half and pulled away for a 55-44 win over the Lightning in Fox Valley Association girls basketball action Tuesday night at North High School.
The game was tied 26-26 at halftime before the Wildcats (3-3, 3-1 FVA) outscored Appleton North by 11 points in the second half to earn the road win.
Tay Maass had 17 points and Avery Werfal scored 13 for the Lightning (4-4, 1-3 FVA).
Maddie Rasmussen led Oshkosh West with 16 points.
Appleton North hosts Oshkosh North on Friday.
