Oshkosh West tops Appleton North girls basketball in OT

OSHKOSH – Appleton North battled back to force overtime, but were outscored by eight in the extra period and dropped a 57-49 decision to Oshkosh West in a Fox Valley Association girls basketball game Friday night at Oshkosh West High School.

The Lightning outscored West by three in the second half to tie the game up at 47-47 at the end of the regulation, but the Wildcats (9-9, 7-6 FVA) went on a 10-2 run to close out the game.

Only three Appleton North (6-11, 3-10 FVA) players scored in the loss, with Avery Werfal pouring in 20 points, Tay Maas 17 and Amber Ziemer 12.

Appleton North will play at Oshkosh North on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
