Oshkosh West slugs past Appleton North softball

OSHKOSH – Oshkosh West scored three times in the opening inning and went on to defeat Appleton North 12-1 in a Fox Valley Association softball game Tuesday at Oshkosh West High School.
The Wildcats (3-0, 1-0 FVA) added three more runs in the second inning and six in the third as they went on to finish off the game due to the 10-run rule after five innings.
Appleton North’s lone run came in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Tatum Beggs.
Alyssa Wald had three hits and Lila Griffith had two for the Lightning (0-2 overall and FVA), which finished with eight hits overall.
Appleton North hosts Kimberly on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
