Oshkosh West rallies to defeat Appleton East football

OSHKOSH – The Appleton East football team jumped out to a two-touchdown lead in the first quarter, but Oshkosh West rallied to post a 40-23 victory in a Fox Valley Association matchup Friday night at Titan Stadium.
Appleton East quarterback Alex Thompson had a 24-yard touchdown run and threw a 30-yard touchdown to Kyreese White as the Patriots opened up a 15-0 lead in the opening quarter.
West responded with 40 points over the final three quarters to pull away.
East’s final score, in the fourth quarter, came on a 1-yard run by Jacob Weisbach.
Zach Carpenter ran for 70 yards and White added 56 on the ground for Patriots, who fall to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the Fox Valley Association. Oshkosh West is now 3-4 and 1-4 in conference play.
Appleton East hosts Appleton North next Friday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m.
