Oshkosh North blanks Appleton West softball

OSHKOSH – The Appleton West softball team was held to two hits in a 7-0 shutout loss to Oshkosh North in its Fox Valley Association opener Thursday at Oshkosh North High School.

The Spartans (2-3, 1-1 FVA) scored four times in the first inning and that would be enough as Kara Cummings held Appleton West to two hits and struck out eight in a complete game.

Aubrye Detert had a double for the Terrors (1-1, 0-1 FVA).

Appleton West will host Kimberly on Friday at the Nienhaus Sports Complex beginning at 5:30 p.m.
