Notre Dame scores on PK, shuts out Xavier boys soccer

APPLETON – A goal off a penalty kick early in the second half provided the game’s only goal as Green Bay Notre Dame defeated Xavier 1-0 in a nonconference boys soccer game Tuesday at the Xavier High School Soccer Field.

Keegan Maxfield knocked in the penalty kick 8:21 into the second half and the Tritons (2-1) held Xavier scoreless the rest of the way to earn the victory.

Xavier (1-2) is back in action Thursday at crosstown rival Fox Valley Lutheran for another nonconference contest. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
