Notre Dame ends Fox Valley Lutheran’s playoff run in WIAA Division 3 Level 2 football playoff matchup

GREEN BAY – The Fox Valley Lutheran football team’s postseason run came to an end Friday night with a  49-10 loss to Green Bay Notre Dame in a WIAA Division 3 Level 2 playoff game at Notre Dame High School.

Adam Loberger kicked a 26-yard field goal early in the first quarter to put Fox Valley Lutheran ahead 3-0, but Notre Dame proved to be too much to handle, ripping off five unanswered touchdowns, to pull ahead 35-3 heading into the fourth.

Liam Heiges connected with Trenton Heyn for a 13-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter for the Foxes’ final score.

Jack Egan ran for 65 yards and Heiges threw for 74 for Fox Valley Lutheran, which finishes its season with a 7-4 record. The Foxes were held to 154 total yards as Heiges went just 7-for-24 passing against a stout Notre Dame defense.

The Tritons, meanwhile, racked up 383 yards on the ground.

Notre Dame (10-1) moves on to a Division 3 Level 3 matchup at No. 1 seed Mount Horeb/Barneveld next Friday, Nov. 3.
