APPLETON – Kimberly scored in each of the first five innings to build a big lead and went on to defeat Appleton West 12-4 in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Monday at the Nienhaus Sports Complex.
The Papermakers put up 10 runs over their first five at-bats to open up a 10-1 lead.
Kimberly leadoff hitter Sawyer Deering had a single, two doubles, a home run and drove in three to lead the attack as the Papermakers improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the FVA.
Appleton West put up three runs in the fifth inning thanks to an error and sacrifice flies from Quinn Meyers and Loren Georger, but that would be it for the Terrors, who fall to 1-4 and 1-1 in conference play.
Appleton West will host Hortonville on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
