Kimberly shuts out Appleton West in a WIAA Division 1 girls soccer sectional semifinal

KIMBERLY – Kimberly scored just more than one minute into the game and Appleton West was unable to recover, falling the Papermakers 4-0 in a WIAA Division 1 girls soccer sectional semifinal Thursday night at Kimberly High School.
Emily McCarthy scored at the 1:05 and added two more goals to earn a hat trick for Kimberly (20-2-1), which moves on to a D-1 sectional final against D.C. Everest (18-2-2) on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School. The winner advances to next week’s WIAA State Girls Soccer Tournament in Milwaukee.
Senah Hanes also scored for the Papermakers, and Abby Lom and Kennedy Ebben both finished with two assists in the victory.
Appleton West finishes its season with a 9-10-2 record.
